What are you still doing there?

I normally do not like to read photo captions but this picture of Mr. Joshua Mike-Bamiloye caught my attention so I decided to check it out and it turned out to be really awesome. Will I just let it pass? No way!!

Picture, word and everything credit: Mr. Joshua Mike-Bamiloye. I only added one tiny little jara :)

As Christians, it is important for us to be spiritually sensitive and more importantly, obedient to the instructions of the spirit. When you find yourself in an event, a meeting, a gathering, a party etc and your spirit keeps making you uncomfortable, giving you signals to get out. please and please, get out! It might even be a church you attend, or a group of friends that you often hang out with or a relationship with that guy or girl. If your spirit is giving you warnings, please get out of it!

The pot of stew is filled with all sorts of things that are delightful to eat actually, but when the fire is lit up, don't wait until you also end up as cooked meat for someone else, the devil.

The devil is an opportunist and he is counting on your disobedience to give him the entry point into your life.
Many times, Christians know what is right but they neglect the alarm bells in their spirit until it becomes silent and they go right ahead to feed their emotions and do what ought not. Like Rev. Olusola Areogun says, "Emotionalism is the assassin of divine destiny".

II Cor.6:17 starts by saying, "Therefore come out from among them sayeth the Lord and be separate..."

I think it is time to sit back and review the things we've gotten ourselves in and detach from things that silence the Holy Spirit in the  life of a believer. You are too precious to be eaten up! Remember, the Holy Spirit will not always strive with you (Gen. 6:3). Do not win the battle within your spirit man, you will only lose to the devil later. Why not lose to the Holy Spirit now?

How to overcome envy and jealousy

For any individual, the key to a victorious life now and in the future is to live the life that Christ gives and not just stay in the operations of the flesh that lead backward into regression, reduction and failure. As a Christian, you have the power to live like Christ.

JOHN 1: 12-13
“But as many as received him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

Feeling bad at another person for what they have that you don’t have and wishing you were the one that had it is a work of the flesh that you must not allow to rule your life. It leads to hatred, rancour, offenses, bitterness, division, loss of personal joy, the want to be like another person and even a low self esteem. It makes you lack confidence in what you have, who you are, your own gifts, talents and skills, and it makes you look down on yourself.
The solution to this long age feminine monster is to understand, appreciate and celebrate your own specialness in God. God created you different and placed a special value on you. You are unique!

EPHESIANS 2: 10
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

I PETER 2:9
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light”

Begin to see yourself in this order and seek God’s face for the special things He has put inside you and also, to help you explore those things so that you can enjoy them and walk in them. God is also at work in your own life to bring joy and fulfilment to you. Believe in God’s work in your own life and also celebrate His works in other people’s lives.
Envy will make you God’s enemy because you wish for evil to happen to somebody that God has favoured! Envy made King Saul to go after David, envy made Cain to kill Abel, envy made Haman to be bitter at Mordecai. Run from envy before it cuts you off divine flows.
Is there anyone that you are envious of and you feel so uncomfortable about his/her joy, blessing, promotion, greatness or anything at all? It is time to break the yoke of envy off your neck. Here’s how:

·         Bind the spirit of envy, strife, jealousy and tension. Break its hold off your life
·         Mention the names of such people and pray for them to have increase on every side and be blessed
·         Deliberately rejoice and celebrate with them with a joyful heart
·         Pass compliments across e.g. “you look so good”, “that was a great project”, “you are such a fantastic speaker” etc.
·         If you can afford it, send a nice gift to them
·         Don’t yield to envy-moved prayers. “Lord, see that girl’s dress, give me my own” such prayers make you to lose your joy!

You can approach God as a father. Believe Him for anything and everything you want personally. You can learn from others but don’t envy them. Be secure in who you are in God, appreciate who He has made you and thank Him for what is happening in your life per time.
Celebrate others without desiring to have what they have. John the Baptist celebrated Jesus, he didn’t wish he was Him (John 1, read please). Paul celebrated Peter, Apollos and other disciples in I Corinthians chapter 3.
Stop envy! Go for a great life in God and watch your life become all that God has ordained it to be. Receive grace as you make a decision to apply these truths to your life.  God bless you in Jesus’ name J

Outstretched arms

Imagine being cut off from your beloved family and put in chains, taken to strange land and given an anesthesia forcefully with no hope of expression. well, that's like the exact state of a sinful man.

As a sinner, your spirit man is DEAD!!! You are completely cut off from God, you can’t hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, can’t receive instructions for your life and destiny, can’t do nothing! The sinner’s spirit is simply dead. Walking after the flesh only, bound by sin and filth. It may interest you to know that in the spirit realm, there is no neutral state. You’re either for God or the devil.
Luke 11:23 “he that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not With me scattereth”.
Now it is not all about your sins first of all, but that default nature of sin in man. Being born into this world confers sin on you by reason of the fall. You are not a sinner because you sin; rather, you sin because you are a sinner. It is that nature of the devil that makes a man to displease God.
rom 3:23     “for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God
psa 51:5        “behold I was shapen in iniquity and in sin did my mother conceive me”.
There is the provision of God for redemption which has been made available by the blood of Jesus. God practically gave Himself up for us by appearing in the flesh and shedding His blood. In fact, it is so serious that if you were the only one remaining on the planet, Jesus would still have come to die, yeah, He loves you that much. There is grace in Christ Jesus to live a life that is pleasing and acceptable to God. What will actually take a man to hell is his refusal to accept Jesus. Now, this isn’t about being born into a Christian family or being a church goer. It is about having a real, living relationship with God the Father through Jesus the son; it is only then that the Holy Spirit can dwell inside of you. Don’t think of all the wrongs you have done and how ugly or messy your past is, it is not how good you are that makes you acceptable to God. In fact, He forgave you before you sinned.
rom. 5:6-8
6. “for when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly
7. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man one would even dare to die.
8. but God commended His love toward us in that while we were yeT sinners, Christ died for us”
This is the good news of the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Our great substitute, who made himself sin that we can be made righteous
IIcor5:21     “for he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him”
John 3:16    “for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”
He has reconciled us to the father!!! We are joint heirs with Him, partakers of the new covenant. How exciting!
They put a crown of thorns on his head: He erased the curse hanging on mankind in Gen 3:17-19
Nail on his hands so that whatsoever you lay your hands upon shall prosper
39 lashes on his back by his stripes you are healed
Piercing on his legs for you to regain the dominion that God released in Genesis such that wherever the sole of your foot shall thread becomes your possession, you can trample upon serpents and scorpions and nothing shall by any means hurt you. What authority there is in Jesus!

Isa 53:5 “but he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him and with His stripes we are healed”
HE HAS REDEEMED YOU ON THE CROSS, THE CURSE IS LIFTED!!! What better package can humanity get? You do not have to keep living under the control of the devil such that he can come at any time ‘t’ and do whatever he likes with your life. It is time to take charge and accept the provision of God for you. Don’t despise God’s offer of mercy. If you are willing to make Jesus the Lord of your life, do say this prayer with faith in your heart:
“Dear Jesus, I acknowledge that I’m a sinner, come into my life and cleanse me with your blood. I accept you today as my Lord and saviour. I make this decision today willingly, deliberately, intelligently and permanently. Satan, I turn away from you henceforth. Jesus is my Lord. Holy Spirit, please fill my life and take me over. Thank you heavenly father in Jesus’ name I pray”.
Wow O Wow! Dear friend, if you just prayed this simple prayer, I’m happy to say you’re now born again. Congratulations!!! Welcome to God’s very own family. This is your greatest decision, ever! Please, join a Dream Centre branch near you today to step into the fullness of your destiny and God’s plan for your life.

Overcoming guilt (II)-the danger of unrepentance.

Another mistake a child of God can make is to deny when you have done something that is wrong and put on a bold face as if nothing happened. The Holy Spirit will come to convict you, (even if it is a wrong thought towards another person, it could even be a sinful thought or an evil thought), let alone sinful words or actions. The moment you do anything wrong, part of the ministry of the Holy Spirit is conviction. He comes to convict your heart. Conviction feels like a drop, it’s like you drop from a state of excitement to a state of lowliness of heart. Something like you’re hurting a loved one. That feeling is the feeling of expression of the Father’s displeasure with what you have just thought about, with what you have just said or with what you have just done and you must train yourself to acknowledge, to discern, to know instantly the conviction of the Holy Spirit and stop. Your soul feels troubled and then, you stop and say what did I just say? Lord, I’m sorry for saying that about that person. That’s how to make your way right before the Lord. Don’t wait until the day that you want to pray, your walk with God is not a religious act that you wait till next Sunday before you start repenting. This makes you feel so unworthy before the Father. The Holy Spirit is always, always, always there to bring conviction, so that there will never be a time that you are not standing right before the Father, so that there will never be a time that you’re not working worthy of His presence, so that there will never be a time that The Father withdraws His presence or that you stray away from His presence and then, the enemy can stray in into your life. You must be sensitive to that operation of the Holy Spirit when He comes to convict your soul. Not to argue with him and not to act stubborn and say “ehn, didn’t you also hear what he said, I’ve been keeping quiet all these days, bla bla bla”. You don’t argue or react against the conviction of the Holy Spirit, you just yield, just respond “Lord I’m so sorry for doing this and that”. He knows more than you, He’s in heaven, you are on earth. That always keeps you standing right before the Lord. Learn to protect everything that will keep you standing right before your maker. Don’t carry offences around, it’s not worth it, no matter who has offended you, he/she is not worth withdrawing yourself and living in guilt for, such that you can’t stand at any given time ‘t’ and say Father, here am I! Don’t let iniquity create a barrier, a wall between you and the Father because it will affect your stand of faith.
I John 1:9 says “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”.
If you will be forgiven, you must confess. Verse 9 explains that once you confess your sins to God you are forgiven and not only are you forgiven, you are cleansed. That filth is no longer there, that sense of guilt is taken away and then, the power that sin holds on you to cause you to do it over and over again gets broken but unconfessed sins still have power to hold your neck to keep putting it back, over and over again. One of the worst things you can do for yourself is to cover your sins. Confessions of sins always help you to stand right before the Father, such that you know you are talking and the Father is hearing you. Make a decision to repent of every uncovered sin and walk in the victory that Jesus purchased for you. Jesus is Lord!

Overcoming guilt

Guilt is an awareness of wrong doing accompanied by feelings of shame and regret. It makes you feel unworthy, undeserving, condemned and unfit for use. Guilt is a major opposition that the devil brings against the believer’s soul to attack our faith. Guilt, accusations and condemnations are NEVER from Jesus (we could ask the woman caught in adultery). The truth of the matter is that God forgave you before you sinned; Jesus has already died on the cross so forgiveness is your inheritance. Many people today think that God keeps a record of all past sins; this is a lie of the devil to make you feel guilty and condemned.

Heb 8:12 says “I will be merciful to their unrighteousness and THEIR SINS AND THEIR INIQUITIES WILL I REMEMBER NO MORE

God is not some old school principal that keeps a record of all your sins! So when the devil brings condemnation to your spirit; the truth is that those sins don’t even exist in the Father’s presence! He remembers them no more, you’re forgiven already.
Why does the devil bring condemnation to make you feel guilty??? It is so that you can lose your stand as a son in the Father’s presence; so that you’re no longer able to come boldly and say: Father, here am I! The devil brings the memories of the old sins and he tells you “you too, you want to pray, after all you’ve done, you that you still sinned yesterday, bla bla bla ” but you’ve got to understand the fact that God is a direct father to all, including you! So you should be bold before Him and not filled with guilt.

Heb 4:16 says “Let us therefore come BOLDLY unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Don’t come to a place that the devil brings accusations against your spirit and tells you you’ve not prayed enough, you’ve not worshipped enough, you’ve never read your Bible, bla, bla, bla. Accusation, condemnation and guilt are forces of the devil at work and he is after that boldness in the Father’s presence. Guilt makes your faith inactive and it is time to overcome it. You have a right standing with God by the blood of Jesus. That is why Jesus died, that is why He came, that is why He shed His blood, so that we will have access to the Father, the blood of Jesus is a cleansing blood that removes guilt and makes us worthy before the Father’s presence. Lay hold of the blood of Jesus today and let Him cleanse you of all unrighteousness. We are made righteous by the blood of Jesus (Rom 5:19). It is your inheritance, walk in this victory and don’t let the devil steal your joy. JESUS IS LORD. :)
